Common questions

Before you start

Do I need B1 or B2?

For British citizenship, the English requirement is B1 or higher. For settlement, most routes require B1 for applications made before 26 March 2027, and B2 for applications made on or after that date. Exemptions apply. Check the deadline rules or the citizenship rules.

Is B1English an official test?

No. We're preparation only. You book and sit the real test with an approved provider, and nothing here is reported to them.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. A free diagnostic for each test, one free full mock, and a free GESE Grade 5 rehearsal every week.
